Ear Candling

Ear Candling or Coning is an ancient healing modality from Atlantean,
Mayan, Egyptian and Tibetan cultures. It is one of the many healing practices that have spent time in hiding. The practice was brought to Cairns in 1996 where it has become popular for its relaxing and gentle healing properties, easing ear, nose and sinus problems. However, it is not only the physical body that benefits from Candling. There are also esoteric values that are not usually addressed. Originally Candling was used in conjunction with initiation practice for spiritual leaders in order to strengthen their positions as bearers of great truths, open the spiritual centers and to clear and cleanse the physical as well as the emotional and auric bodies. It was used in conjunction with other healing practices and assumed a co-creative position with them.

Traditionally, master energetic healers who worked on the physical as well as intermediate planes performed Candling. It was performed in the temples and usually occurred in a series of three, spaced strategically apart. The number of Candlings performed was individualized and depended upon either the amount of clearing necessary and/or the spiritual appetite of each person. Although seven Candlings were average, at times, as many as eleven were performed. The numbers nine and eleven were considered to be aligned with the master numbers in numerology. Receiving nine or eleven Candlings symbolized achieving human perfection toward universal service. Ear Candling works primarily on the physical body by detoxifying the sinus, lymphatic and other systems, and at the same time, provide clarity of hearing and vision, improvement in the senses of smell, taste and color perception as well as emotional stability and clear mental functioning.

Esoterically Candling works directly with the chakra system to clear and strengthen the auric bodies. Traditionally, the first seven Candlings worked to clear and strengthen the physical body and the first seven layers of the auric field. Each Candling would always affect the physical body and then affect whichever auric layer needed most to be cleared at that moment.

In the Egyptian tradition it was believed that the auric bodies release blocked energy in a sequence, for example, the first Candling affected the physical body and the first auric layer. The second Candling affected the physical body and the second auric layer and so on through the first seven Candlings. The eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh were performed in order to clear and strengthen the physical body and those bodies in the cosmic plane of existence in those crystalline bodies composed of extremely fine, high vibrations. These Candlings were thought to totally purify the physical body and to fine-tune the auric field in order to allow one to resonate in the purist form in preparation for supreme service or ascension.
